The NEWLOOK Experience Home, a part of Pro Builder Media Group's Idea Home show home series, is being built on a plot of land directly in a floodplain—which makes for an exceptionally challenging build. In this update from the jobsite, builder Michael Freiburger explains one part of his team's approach to building a foundation that can handle the wet, flood-prone terrain. Using a geotechnical filter fabric, something more common in commercial building, Freiburger is able to create a suitable foundation for the site without building a much more time consuming, much more costly concrete vault.
