Proudly headquartered in Wilmette, IL, NEWLOOK combines well over 100 years of experience with innovation, technology and a design | build project delivery approach that streamlines the entire process, providing one point of contact throughout the project, taking full responsibility and cost accountability.  NEWLOOK designs all projects in full 3D, providing interactive models with virtual and augmented reality capabilities allowing clients to fully understand and even get immersed in their project prior to construction.  These models combined with industry leading technology and online cloud based project management software allows for projects to be expedited, reducing costs while being fully transparent and updated in real time.

NEWLOOK is spearheaded by Michael P. Freiburger, who brings a distinctive and comprehensive perspective to the design | build + development business.  Having immersed himself in the world of construction from an early age alongside his father, Michael's journey began with significant exposure to various trades. His dedication led him to work at a globally recognized architecture firm while still in high school. Subsequently, Michael pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at Ohio University, followed by a Master of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.  Michael's portfolio boasts diverse project types, ranging from high-rise mixed-use developments to educational and retail spaces, as well as luxury residential design-build ventures.  NEWLOOK's residential division stands as the premier luxury provider in Chicagoland and the North Shore, reflecting Michael's deep-rooted connection to the community where he was raised, resides, and remains passionately engaged. 

Dave Hays brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the construction industry to his role at NEWLOOK Design-Build & Development. Where he has ascended the ranks over 14 years from a laborer to a Project Manager, and now serves as the Director of Construction (DoC). His journey through the company's various operational facets has endowed him with an invaluable. Hands-on understanding of every aspect of the construction process, particularly in the realm of custom luxury single-family homes and townhomes throughout the North Shore.

Holding an Associate degree and Certification in Construction Management from Oakton Community College. Dave's academic background laid a solid foundation for his practical skills and leadership abilities. As a Project Manager, he has successfully overseen the production of dozens of high-end custom projects. Showcasing his exceptional capability in project planning, team leadership, and quality assurance. Dave's trajectory at NEWLOOK not only highlights his dedication and skill in his field but also his profound impact on creating dream homes for clients. Making him a pivotal figure in the company's continued success and reputation for excellence.

Rolando Murillo is a highly experienced residential construction superintendent and project manager. With over 20 years of comprehensive expertise in leading all facets of construction. Since 2022, he has been integral to Newlook Construction LLC, as a Building Superintendent, where he manages the construction operations of new custom home buildings. Ensuring productivity, quality, and safety objectives are met, while adeptly resolving constructability or design issues. Prior to NEWLOOK, Rolando spent 23 years at The Jacobs Companies in Deerfield, IL, where he excelled from an Assistant to the Superintendent to a Project Manager. Showcasing his capability to oversee multiple projects, from heavy labor tasks to the detailed coordination of subcontractors and inspections, ensuring all constructions adhere to code and high-quality standards. Rolando's career is marked by a commitment to excellence and a keen focus on delivering the NEWLOOK experience through every project phase.

Steve J. Economou, AIA, is an accomplished architect renowned for his expertise in the design and development of sports and family-entertainment centers, multi-use commercial and residential properties, and hotel, hospitality, and food-service projects. Graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture, Steve is a respected member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. His distinguished work has garnered multiple awards, including honors for outstanding design and historic preservation, reflecting his exceptional ability to marry functional design with aesthetic excellence.

Steve's diverse project portfolio includes the transformation of Kendall College in Chicago, the innovative design of the Edge II, Blackhawks Training Center in Bensenville, IL, and the development of the Hotel Indigo in Fort Myers, FL, among others. Each project underlines his versatility and commitment to creating spaces that resonate with their users and communities. Steve’s visionary approach and meticulous attention to detail have established him as a leader in architectural design, known for pushing the boundaries of traditional architecture to create environments that inspire and endure.

Dennis brings a wealth of experience and expertise in a wide array of project types, spanning from single-family homes to multifamily residences, as well as commercial and industrial ventures. With a BS in architecture and a minor in construction management, he has a well-rounded foundation that will serve him well in various roles within the built environment. His experience working at a large corporate developer has enriched him with the ability to work with individuals ranging from developers, to engineers, to field crew members. Whenever you need to know the details of any of the many complicated aspects of the project, Dennis is the person to call. It is also his responsibility to update the model, distribute BIM files to team members, and share plan updates with stakeholders so everyone stays informed and aligned.

Since  joining the team in late summer of last year he has played a pivotal part in getting the project to the heights it stands today. As the main point of contact on the Architecture team for the project, he coordinates meetings between designers and builders, all the while being able to understand and communicate the client’s goals for the project. Being able to grasp both the intricate details and the overarching goals of a project means he can navigate complex challenges while keeping the end objectives in sight.

Sybil Benson's excellent communication and organizational skills enhance her roles as Office Manager, Project Controller, and Social Media Coordinator. Her expertise in process improvement ensures that NEWLOOK operates efficiently across all departments. Sybil’s precise financial management is a cornerstone of NEWLOOK’s strategic decision-making, significantly benefiting the company. Her extensive experience in office management, particularly in architecture and event planning, equips her to manage office cohesion and align with company objectives effectively. With over six years of experience in social media, Sybil understands the importance of branding and promoting the outstanding advantages of working with NEWLOOK Development. 

Earning a Business Administration degree from The University of Kansas, Sybil continually expands her knowledge base and consistently adds value to NEWLOOK.
